The Titanic was built in my home town of Belfast in the famous Harland and Wolff shipyard. It set sail with the White Star Line for America to the "land of opportunity" riding on a new era of Industrial and Economic optimism. The Vice President of the White Star line famously claimed the Titanic was unsinkable. However, the power of nature is not to be underestimated and tragically the Titanic sank on its maiden voyage hitting an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean having almost completed its journey. This design explores the dynamic between man and nature.
