Manannán Mac Lir is a Celtic sea god; associated with sea mists he moves easily between this life and the otherworld. He figures widely in Irish, Manx, Scottish and Welsh literature. His daughter Niamh traveled from Tir Na nÓg on a horse from the sea to Ireland and fell in love with Oisin, son of Fionn MacCumhaill. A gold hoard found in Limavady, Ulster, contains a beautifully worked boat made in pure gold with delicate oars crafted out of gold wire. It is believed to have been an offering to Manannán Mac Lir. These silver earrings are designed to represent the nautical offering to the sea god.

This product measures 33mm long and 9mm wide.
