The Celtic harvest festival is named after the god Lugh or Light. It was associated with the first harvest half way between the spring and autumn equinox. It involved great celebration and a time of plenty. There were great gatherings that included religious ceremonies, ritual athletic contests. The design represents the sun and light. I designed the Lughnasa earrings using a circle of hammered silver to represent rays of light and it is set with a rich Carnelian representing the sun and the golden light shining through.
These earrings measure 14mm in diameter and hang to 29mm
