The Celtic harvest festival is named after the god Lugh or Light. It was associated with the first harvest halfway between the spring and autumn equinox. It involved great celebration and a time of plenty. There were great gatherings that included religious ceremonies, ritual athletic contests. The design represents the sun and light.
