Clann in Irish means family, more specifically immediate family. Family has always been very important in Irish and Celtic society and the bonds of kinship are still important today. Many Irish people you meet even now will try to make a connection with you through a clann name (surname).
It is part of my Gaeilge - Irish language collection. It is made with a chunky little sterling silver bar which is double-sided just in case you need a quick translation into English, for those sure to be curious about "teanga na Gaeilge" - the beautiful Irish language!
