Dochas ~ Hope
"Dóchas" is Gaeilge for “Hope”. It is made with a chunky little sterling silver bar which is double-sided just in case you need a quick translation into English. It is part of my Gaeilge collection.
Gaeilge ~ Irish is one of the oldest languages in Europe. Outside the classical world of Greece and Rome, Ireland has the earliest literature in Europe written in Gaeilge, which was spoken by the ordinary people. It belongs to the Celtic group of languages along with its sister languages Manx, Welsh, Breton, Cornish and Scots Gaelic.
Many of the early Gaeilge texts include sagas, stories about myths and legends, exploring the universal stories of creation, heroic deeds, conflict, love and hate and the otherworld.

The bar measures 30mm by 5mm and is on an 18" chain. It is made in Ireland and hallmarked in Dublin Castle
